Privacy, ownership and copyright

You own your files and your library is private by default. Learn who can see your designs, how support access works and how copyright concerns are handled.

Updated

CraftKeep launches soon. This guide describes how it works at launch.

Your design library is personal, and often represents years of collecting and real money spent on designs. CraftKeep is built around keeping it yours.

You own your files

The files you upload remain yours. CraftKeep stores them, organizes them and makes them easy to find, but it does not claim ownership of your designs.

CraftKeep also keeps your files exactly as you uploaded them, with their original filenames and folder paths. Standardized names and organization are added alongside your originals, never in place of them. You can download your files at any time, and you can export your originals whenever you need them.

Private by default

Everything you upload is private to you. Your designs are not visible to people who are not signed in, to other CraftKeep members, or to guilds, unless you choose to share them. That privacy extends to previews, search results, file counts and downloads, so nothing about your private library shows up anywhere else.

Your files are encrypted in transit and at rest. The security page has more on how CraftKeep protects your account and your library.

Support never opens your files without your approval

Sometimes you might need help with your account. CraftKeep support can help with many issues without seeing your designs at all.

If solving a problem would require looking at the contents of your private files, support needs your explicit approval first. That approval:

  • is something you give or decline, and it is declined unless you say yes
  • is limited to what is needed for your issue
  • is time-limited, and ends on its own
  • can be withdrawn by you

Every support action is recorded, including who acted and what they accessed. Attaching a file to a support request does not give support access to your library.

Respecting designers' rights

Many designs are paid work by independent designers, and their licenses matter. Before you share any design, check what the designer allows. A design package can store license and source details to help you keep track. Being in a guild or club does not grant anyone the right to a designer's paid files. See Sharing and guilds.

Copyright concerns

If you believe content shared through CraftKeep uses your work without permission, contact the team through the contact page. Include enough detail to identify the work and the content you are concerned about. A dedicated copyright process will be published alongside CraftKeep's legal documents.

Payment and sign-in details

Card payments are handled by Stripe, and CraftKeep never sees or stores your card number. Sign-in is handled by MobieusIDP, and CraftKeep never stores your password. See Account security.

Deleting things

Items you delete go to Trash first, so you can recover them if you change your mind. See Recovering deleted files and versions. Details of permanent deletion and how long information is kept are set out in CraftKeep's privacy policy.

Legal documents

CraftKeep's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and related policies are currently in review. The final versions will be published in the legal section of this site, and they are the documents that govern your use of CraftKeep.
